According to Intuit, Error Code 00000 38997 indicates that QuickBooks has encountered a problem reading the QuickBooks registration file, qbregistration.dat. There are several possible causes:

the qbregistration.dat file wasn’t created correctly
the qbregistration.dat can’t be located in its expected location
a recent software installation (even one unrelated to QuickBooks) has corrupted the qbregistration.dat file

To fix this error, you’ll need to edit the qbregistration.dat file with your correct QuickBooks license number, product number, and release information.

Other errors involving the registration file include Error Code 00000 39056 and Error Code 00000 38772.

Does QuickBooks Offer a Standard Report Showing Sales By “Ship To” State?

Unfortunately, not out-of-the-box, but we can create a custom report with exactly this information.

Using the standard Custom Transaction Detail Report and setting custom filters, it is possible to produce a report based on other criteria, such as Name State (which is the Bill To state) or Sales Tax Code. However, in the case of Name State, you’d need to enter the state code for each state for which you needed a report. That process would be tedious and carry a greater chance of error. In the end, since it’s based on the Bill To state, it’s not even the desired information. None of the available criteria come close to approximating what would be included on a Sales By Ship To State custom report.

What Does Error Code 19511 51058 Mean?

Unfortunately, while we’ve documented Error Code 19511 51058, we have yet to isolate the exact cause. The error results in QuickBooks shutting down. The fix which has been successful is to:

continue to shut down QuickBooks
close all other applications
restart your computer
re-launch QuickBooks, which should start normally

Fortunately, this error does not appear to interrupt normal use of QuickBooks.

What Does Error Code -6000, -305 Mean?

According to Intuit, Error Code -6000, -305 is caused either by a damaged company file (.qbw) or a damaged QuickBooks installation.

There are several troubleshooting steps discussed in the Intuit knowledge base article linked below. These steps include attempting to open a sample company file or restoring the company file that produced the error from a backup.
